TRANSILVANIA University is a state university founded in 1948. It is a combination between technical and humanities sciences. In 2005 was introduced the Bologna process with 4(3) years license and 2(2) years master for engineering (respectively for humanistic fields), both having ECTS systems. From 2000 was established ODL learning system with 600 students focused in the humanistic fields. The total student's number is about 26,000. UNITBv has established national CISCO Academy (with ca. 420 graduates) and put the bases for a Microsoft Academy. UNITBv-Center of Valorisation and Transfer of Competence (CVTC) built in the frame of TEMPUS Project-S-JEP-12536-97, is dealing with transfer and valorisation of competence. UNITBv and CVTC was one of the initiators, partners and founders of Remote Engineering Conference; Association for Online Engineering-IAOE; Creativity Center of Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation.
Role of the organisation in the project:
P4 will be WP2 leader and take over the adjustment of the LMS moodle platform (real-time experiments, multilingual and target group adjusted environment, PLE, semantic web technologies), and ensure a stable web environment. It will participate in WP7prepare reports and take part in all meetings. In WP1 it will provide training for best practices using experience in CVTC execution. In WP3 P4 with TC partners will support design and development 5 modules, set up remote labs for P6, P11, draw up manuals. In WP4 it will execute the training for authors and tutors in usage of distance learning management tools in the portal and provide technical assistance during training, and support execution of pilot training for participants from TC HEI/IND. In WP5 it will participate in evaluation and planning of activities after the project lifetime. In WP6 it will participate in dissemination activities, iCo-op conference-Spain and prepare an internal organizational plan to exploit the deliverables.
